i need to know how to fix the picture on asony tv. on sony's crt direct view and sony's projectiontvs, see if the power and timer light is blinking, just a constant on off pattern. if it is,it either can't get the right color balance or won't display a picture at all. crt tvs are so 1990s. my tv isn't old enoughfor that to be an issue.
Android TV picture in picture, you may need to turn up the brightness orturn down the contrast to fix the image when it is too dark. it isn't something that obvious, just wonkyimages and colors. is the tv ghosting?
what is ghosting? ghosting is when it duplicates the image inan offset position, usually imposed on top of the image so it looks like a ghost. i've never heard of it. i've heard of ghosting happening on the sonybravia lcd tvs. sony's suggestion is to try to power cycle it, try a different video sourceto see that it isn't the tv, and otherwise call for service. i am glad i haven't had that problem. if you have a black box in the middle of thescreen, you may have closed captioning on
but there's no closed captioning. so turnoff closed captioning. i've never turned that on. if you get clear audio but not image, youcould have an internal board that has blown out, though whether the logic board or inverteror another, i don't know. i don't even know what an inverter is. if the green light on the sony tv comes onbut not the image except the whole image really dark, the back light has probably died. that is at least cheap to replace. if the green light comes on but no picturecomes up but the logo does, and swapping inputs
doesn't fix it, i've heard of people fixingit by waiting a literal second after the bravia logo comes up, then changing channels. up or down? it actually doesn't matter. but you want toscroll through a couple of channels, and this essentially resets the input by switchingthe inputs a couple times. i'd love to think i can fix it that easily. if you're unlucky, the problem is a bad lcd. that costs up to half the price of the tvafter you factor in several visits to diagnose it and then replace the damaged part.
if the picture is blurry in a small area,first try cleaning it. this isn't like the screen picture is messedup because we spilled soda on it the way the gaming controllers died. if it isn't spilled something on the screenand the blur is spreading, you need to get it serviced. the same is true if it has adark spot that's expanding. that makes me wish the screen was just totallydark. then it is just a loose connection or simple repair. if the screen flickered when you hear a minorpop, and then it takes longer to start up after you turn it on, you may have a capacitorproblem.
sony wasn't affected by the recalls for that. sony tvs can still have the problem, especiallyif your tv wasn't grounded and there was a surge. then next time i prevent it with a power stripwith a built in surge protector.
