3299€ for the 65 inch model and 5499€ for the 75 inch model samsung has upgraded their desings in the last couple of years and these models are no exception it has almost no bezel, only a fine metal trim around the tv the stand is a v-shaped cilindric metal bar the back of the stand can be unmounted for cable management the tv only has the ac plug and the one connect slot hidden under a platic cover
the back of the tv is like the ks8000 from last year, plastic with horizontal lines and is very thin, only 4,4cm thick up to 5,3cm for the 75 inch model this is due that all connections are in the one connect box in this model the box is huge and has to be plugged in to the mains the cable to the tv is fiber glass and its almost invisible, perfect if we have the tv hanging on the wall the box has all the connections the ac plug, the connection to the tv...
the antenna plug, 2 satellite plugs... 4 hdmi ports, number 2 is arc... the optical audio out, an ethernet port... 3 usb ports, ci card slot and a service jack the tv automatically detects any device connected by hdmi if we have anynet+ on and can be controlled with the tv remote in the picture department is where these models excel mostly in 2 aspects, color volume and viewing angle it has a 10 bit va 4k pannel with edge led lighning
and q engine image processing that scans all content to produce the best possible picture quality in the samsung webpage there is no information about how this engine enhanced the picture, so i assume it does magic and the picture is enhanced it goes up to 3100hz a big gap from last year models they have optimized their quantum dot technology that generate 1024 million colors with the 10 bit pannel for these models they have modified the quantum dots with a new metal alloy that produce more precise colors at any brightness level
most of the tvs are optimized to give the best color at 75% brightness is the brightness is decreased, colors become darker and if brightness is increased, colors become whitened so colors change in these tvs colors are more uniform you can turn up or down the illumination, that colors remain the same we can enjoy better colors regarded if we watch the tv by day or by night this is for those who have different setups for day and night most of the people let the tv as comes from the factory and doesn't change anything so this won't be noticed
but in the release event they showed us a demo with different shades of blue between this model and last years ks9000 and there was a big difference in last year tvs as they turned the illumination up, all shades of blue became the same but in qleds all shades remained the same almost to the 100% brightness where only the first 2 became the same viewing angle has improved a lot it's not as an oled tv but between these and any other led tv, there is a big difference but it still loses color if viewed more than 60⺠from the center they changed the pannel structure and this seems to improve contrast by day and by night, regardless the ambient lighning
to enhance contrast this tv uses precission black pro that produces deeper blacks while bright areas remain vibrant superme uhd dimming, so the light from the bright areas doesn't contaminate the dark areas of the picture and peak illuminator pro that increases the illumination of the bright areas also it has the ultra black anti glare finish for the screen, to reduce reflections it is hdr compatible, in this case hdr10 but this models go up to 1500 nits peak brightness 50% more than last year so it gains detail in the bright and areas of the picture for gamers, this model has normal game mode and hdr game mode
and 24 ms of input lag in the audio department, this model has 4 20w speakers facing downwards it produced better audio than most tvs and has decent bass but you have to turn the volume all the way up through the optical audio output it has dolby digital and dts codecs for better audio quality when we connect a soundbar or home cinema it is also compatible with samsung multiroom system and you can connect any bluetooth speaker or headset the smart tv is tizen and it uses a quad core processor
this year is white, but remains almost the same as last year the aps pop up from the bottom and as we move through them, a second bar shows recommendations for each app it has voice controls thans to the remote control microphone you can connect if via wifi or ethernet, and clone your phone screen with miracast or send media via dlna you also can send the tv signal to your phone with the smart view app that they have enhanced so it is a continuation for the tv's smart tv the remote is really premium metal with a very good finish it has microphone for voice control and you can control any device connected to the tv via hdmi
it has dual dvb-t2 tunner and satellite tuner and thanks to pip, we can watch a tv channel full screen while we watch another channel in a small window and we can connect a usb hard disk and record one channel while we watch another and do timeshift it has energy saving options as eco sensor and auto shut down this is the starting model from the qled line an upgrade for the last year models in color volume and viewing angle as pros it has the design, with the optic cable for the one connect and the cable management and also the color enhancement with better precission and volume
and the viewing angle compared with the suhd from last year as cons that you need 2 ac plugs it would be ideal if through the one connect cable, also provided power to the tv
