Android Wear watch faces, and celebrities such as footballer cristiano ronaldo, basketballer jeremy lin, and even.. dj david guetta, with far more in thepipeline. if that's not enough there are hundredsof free options on the play store and app store which are easy to install andrun. you're spoilt for choice with a connected.
next up - the intuitive control system. the screen responds well to touches without any noticeable input lag. the highlight for us, however, are the well-implemented wrist flick controls.. .. as well as the voice controls. these are perfect for when you haveone hand on the steering wheel.. .. or are carrying a heavy briefcase. responding to messages, be they sms or whatsapps, is also a breeze with the connected. a preview of all messages can be pulledup on the watch.. .. and replying is a very straightforward process.
you'll also have access to google's voice recognition system.. .. which is fairly accurate inpredicting exactly what you wanted to do. for example: this pulls up a list of - you guessed it- restaurants close to your current location. you can swipe to view their opening hours, and once you've made the decision of where to go... .. you can pull up how to get there, on both your smartwatch and smartphone. the watch is also a great companionduring meetings as you can discreetly... .. check for urgent mail and reply ifnecessary - or take only important calls. finally, the inbuilt steps tracker isfairly accurate...
.. and allows you to view your progress throughout the week. however there was a missed opportunityhere to include a heart rate monitor.. .. which brings us to the caveats in this watch. perhaps future software patches canincrease the sensitivity of the watch.. ... it's sometimes hard to fire up the screen without raising it to face level. next: the watch is a fingerprint magnet. it may not be apparent on video, but tothe naked eye... ..the marks left after a day's worth of use are highly visible.
some collectors may wonder about the relatively low resolution of the connected's display.
