hey guys, kavith here. in this video, i'llbe reviewing this tv - a 4k android tv from sony. this tv is part of the x8500c seriesfrom sony which consists of 3 models - the 43 inch, the 49 inch and the 55 inch seenhere. i've been using this tv for a month now, and for the past month, i've enjoyedusing this tv. it's easily one of the best 4k displays out there in the market and withgoogle's android tv running as the os, the
Android TV sony, deal just got a lot sweeter. as you can see, this os is just the normal android experience bloated up for tvs. it's got a few pre-installedapplications like serial abtak, youtube, opera internet browser and es file explorer. italso has the google play store installed but it's the stripped down version of the normalplay store we're used to.it does not contain
a lot of the normal android mobile apps butit still offers a horde of awesome apps. you can go into settings to view the version ofandroid running and if you keep clicking on the version, you can play the famous gamethat comes bundled with the lollipop version of android. now, let's look at the accessories that come bundled with the tv. let's start with theremote, you get two remotes with this tv. a normal remote and a special one-flick remote, which is a huge boon.let's take a look at the one-flick remote first. it has the basicvolume up and down buttons and the next and previous program buttons and the home andback buttons at the button, the remote has a touch-sensitive zone at the center. so,if you drag up from the bottom you'll be able
to open the discover menu and if you dragup from the top, you'll be able to access the action menu. the touch sensitive regionis very useful in navigating throughout the android tv os. the top most part of the remotecontains the power button and a dedicated google voice search button. the remote alsohas an in-built mic which works surprisingly well! this is the other normal remote thatyou get with the tv. next up, we have the camera, this is a small usb accessory thatsits perfectly on the top of the tv. this camera does not click or shoot in high definitionand it cannot be used to make skype calls. so it''s basically useless! so, do yourselfa favor and put it back inside the box. we have the 3d glasses next. so, this is thebest 3d experience i've ever had on a tv.
you get a pair of really cool 3d glasses withthe 55 inch tv. by the way, only the 55 inch tv supports 3d. the 3d glasses are of thebest quality. this tv has a lot of connectivity optionsavailable. it's got 4 hdmi ports, 3 usb ports, 1 ethernet port, 2 composite video inputs,2 analog audio inputs, 1 digital audio output, 1 headphone out and 1 audio out. it even hasan in-built bluetooth module! i wanted to show you guys the quality of the display whilegaming and playing high quality 4k footage, but my camera does not allow it. here's asmall sample, but this is not the true quality that the tv is capable of. take my word, thistv can effortlessly display super crispy images and footage. it's such a pleasure watchinghigh quality media on this tv.
this is just a small sound quality test foryou guys to understand how the tv performs on the audio side of things. my mic was placeda few inches away from the tv. yes, the tv does not do well in the audiodepartment. it does not get loud and the sound is just not exceptional. if you're an audiophile, you'd be better off if you connect an external sound system. if you start nit-picking, youcan find a few things that might bug you. 1.it's frustrating when the tv automaticallyreboots when you're busy watching something. this has happened a couple of times for meand sony tech reps are blaming it on the android tv os. i'm not sure what the real problemis but i'm pretty sure sony will fix it in a future software update.2. this tv is just uhd not 4k dci or true
4k. keep that in mind if you're in the searchfor a pure 4k display. 3. it has only 4.3gb available of 8gb internalstorage which is just not enough to store a lot of heavy games, apps and other contenton the tv.
4. the tv has a very weak wi-fi antenna, soit's best you connect it via an ethernet cable. 5. you cannot use the camera for skype calling. if you think you can live with these shortcomings like me, then this is a solid buy. <<
