Android game controller

while mobile gaming is becoming better andbetter, and increasingly more popular, it always seems to lack that same feeling we'reaccustomed to on our pcs and consoles. so, can a smartphone gamepad fix that?welcome to this satechi universal controller review, and let's find out. the unboxing experience is pretty quick, asyou'll just find the joypad itself and the

Android game controller, standard micro usb cable for charging.the gamepad feels immediately pretty solid, with a decent build quality and a light weight.the matte finish doesn't particularly help with grip, though i wouldn't call it slippery.the design is clearly xbox inspired, which is absolutely a good thing, given that thexbox controller is one of the best around.

you'll find the usual two thumbsticks, thed-pad on the left, the four buttons on the right and 4 triggers on the back.besides, you'll also find 5 buttons at the center which we'll discuss in a minute, anda spring grip on the back to fit your device right in.the thumb-sticks are nicely built and decently responsive, though i would have liked theright stick to be a little more fluid to help with aim in fps games.the slightly textured finish on the sticks helps with grip, so that it's pretty difficultto miss the stick while gaming. the d-pad and the four buttons are reallynice, and there's almost no difference here between this and a standard console controller.the triggers are probably my least favorite

part, being a bit too small and not leavingmuch room for travel. keeping in mind however that this is thought as a portable device, that is something i can forgive. those 5 buttons at the center are the usualstart and select, plus the pairing, mode selection and mouse buttons.while it's easy to see what the mouse and pairing buttons do, the mode button is whatyou'll need when you want to use the controller on a different device.the controller offers 4 total modes: android, android + mouse, ios and pc, with this lastone being available in wired mode via the micro usb port at the bottom.the android + mouse mode is really cool, giving you the possibility to navigate around yourphone, though it's not indispensable throughout

games. when it comes to the actual gaming experience,i have to say i'm pretty happy: the connection was flawless with no delay, and the familiarfeeling of the controller helped a lot in making it easy to use.compatibility is not an area where the controller shines though: while some games worked reallywell, reaching out as far as letting me map buttons, others didn't respond properly ordidn't work at all. in the first category, i was really impressedwhen using dead trigger 2, bb racing or reaper, but i was a bit disappointed not to find fullcompatibility with asphalt 8, which still works by the way.while you can do most tasks anyway thanks

to the mouse mode, it's not that practicalas to allow you to use it comfortably for some titles.something i particularly enjoyed was the emulators compatibility, that really feels like turningyour smartphone into a fully-fledged console. what surprised me the most though was thepricing: for just 30$ on amazon.com, this controller is an incredible package.while you won't be able to replace the touchscreen for some games like candy crush or subwaysurfers, you'll enjoy a really good gaming experience as for compatible titles, makingthis a good buy if gaming on your smartphone is your thing.
