hi everyone. so some good news if you're a samsung galaxy s6 or s6 edge owner. it would appear that samsung has pushed a software update out through the play store for one of theircomponents.
Android battery drain, this relates to basically the notificationservices for samsung's online services - yoursamsung account. now why this update is interesting is they've made a very particular notethere in the patch log that
essentially this is fixing a batterydrain related issue. now it could very well be that theirmessaging service was effectively overactive and it was pinging too often to get data from samsung services. now essentially what was happening there is if your pinging out your wifi, if you're pinging out to the cell towers you're using power. anytime you have updates like thiscoming in, messaging updates that is going to put a drain on the battery. if it's getting too many updates your battery will drain faster. now i'm afraidi can't give you a before and after on this one because i
wasn't expecting samsung to push anupdate out in this manner but what i can tell you is this morningwhen i came and had a look at the curve on my battery drain it did feel considerably better than previousmornings. all in all, it does seem that this has made a markeddifference in battery life and certainly it will be interesting to see how this stacks out for everybody. now, if you haven't received this update yet simply go into the google play store have a look at all your apps and mostlikely the samsung update is there
waiting for you. it is just one of their applications. runthe update and that's it. patched. good as new as it were. now do let meknow in the comments if you've noticed
your battery drain is better after running this particular patch update. for me, i certainly feel like i'm getting 10-15% better battery life just with it resting state as it wereovernight.
