Android TV not connecting to wifi

my vizio tv can't find my wifi! can you find out if you paid your phone companyor isp? yes, i've paid it. and it is working. that doesn't mean the nearest wireless routerto the tv is. i haven't turned off the router.

Android TV not connecting to wifi, you may need to turn it off and back on, powercycling it so that it gets a good connection. i need advice other than if in doubt, reboot. so test the internet connection. it has already failed.

no, it may just be confused. hit the menubutton on the remote, select network, select test connection. i'll probably see the same error message. but you'll also see if it says whether ornot the tv is connected to the network. i have set it up for the wi-fi, it just isn'tworking. if at the network test screen it says it isn'tconnected to the network, go back to network settings, pick the wi-fi network name forthe home network and hit ok. you may need to re-enter the wi-fi password. okay, i can see how changing the wi-fi passwordcould cause it to lose its connection, but

i haven't done that recently. if you've moved the wireless router too farfrom the tv for it to get a signal, it may not even show up on the list. the router is in arm's reach of the tv. that doesn't mean some other wireless deviceisn't interfering with it to the point it doesn't work, or that you closed the metalcabinet doors around it so that nothing can communicate with it. i can see it, so no, that isn't it. so look at the tv and see if it says it isconnected. if so, check the download section.

am i looking for a firmware update? no, you're looking for a connection speed, ideally over one meg per second. if the download speed is far slower, it isconnected but so slow it might as well be stopped. if the download speed is too slow, you cantry stopping anything else competing for bandwidth. or tell the router to move the vizio tv inpriority. i'm assuming that the isp isn't throttlingyour connection, or that the neighbor's haven't done the same. it is my network connection.

so try toggling the dhcp settings on and off. how do you do that? go to network, manual set up, dhcp is nearthe top, turn it off using the arrow buttons and then back on. then test the internet connectionagain. if that fails, i have no idea what else topower cycle. the fall back option is resetting the tv tofactory defaults from system, reset and admin, ok, then confirm your choice to reset it. that requires me to set it up again.

Android TV not connecting to wifi

yes, but you're not getting much use out ofit now.

i still have to see if the network connectionworks. if that fails, you at least can call for serviceknowing you won't pay someone a couple hundred dollars to reboot every piece of hardwarein the room.
